ALTERNATIVE ECONOMIES

FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 6TH, 10:30 AM EST

The food economy, as we know it, is inaccessible to many Americans. During periods of unemployment, emergency food distribution centers attempt to meet the needs of those who cannot participate in traditional food economies. When the needs of the unemployed, as in the current pandemic, exceed the resources of charitable food distribution, creative solutions must be considered. This panel will explore how we can utilize alternative food economies in a capitalist structure. Participates will explore new systems and structures, their advantages and challenges and how they can benefit those in need.
