The Food Lover’s Elective: A CRAFT Conversation Series is back every Tuesday in July as graduate students and community experts converse about topics related to food and everyday life.

This Week’s Episode:

Art has the ability to shed light on the delicate balance between pleasure and peril found in food today, and the ways food gives expression to social and political life. Food, social practice, and their intersection have played an increasing role in artistic production over the past decades. Previous art projects have had the ability to have us think differently about food in creative and engaging ways. Food and activism are not mutually exclusive, nor are art and food. Making food is an art in itself, and making food an art subject can be provocative. Through this conversion, we explore how such projects foster a conversation around food justice and community through art.
