Mary Carey

Mary helps to run the Braddock Community Oven in Pittsburgh PA, where the community hosts pizza nights 1-2 times a month. People in the community come out and make pizza, dance to music, talk, and enjoy a night out with family and new friends. Mary has also hosted many International Nights at the community oven where people who live in the community and surrounding communities come and make food from a different culture or country. Additionally, the oven hosts many bread workshops and Mary has hosted the Harambee Art gallery for 2 years. Mary is a community connector, and the Braddock Community Bread oven is a cherished community space where these connections can blossom.

Aside from her work at the Braddock Community Bread Oven, Mary Carey is the Art, Culture, & Information Facilitator at the Braddock Carnegie Library. Mary works to build community through sharing books, art, and events.
