Ben Schrag

Ben Schrag is a Chatham University graduate student interested in the Appalachian region's rural and urban food apartheids and food native to the African diaspora. He attended West Virginia University and got his degree in Geography with a minor in Africana Studies. In the years he spent away from the academic space, he worked with children on the autism spectrum, where he grew his interest in food access in grade schools.  He is excited to help collect data and other resources to make them more accessible to the states of Pennsylvania, Ohio, and West Virginia.  In his free time, he likes to bike the various trails in Western Pennsylvania and admires the architecture of the homes that make up the different neighborhoods in Pittsburgh.
